Counselling Groups For Personal Growth

In development are a number of exciting groups to help
you develop and explore ideas, gain new perspectives,
and become a more authentic expression of you. And all
this while connecting with like-minded people! These are
just a few of the topics in the works. There will be many
more to come.

 
September - October:

Being a musician often means having a unique experience of life.
And women often have a unique experience even within the world
of music:

  • Women are still significantly outnumbered by men in most musical
    spheres.
  • We often have to work twice as hard as men to garner respect
    as artists.
  • Our looks are frequently more valued than our actual musical talent.
  • Many women struggle with self-esteem issues which can then affect
    artistic expression and productivity as well as self-promotion.
  • A great number of women musicians find themselves having to
    choose between making music and having a family.

Facing these challenges can be personally frustrating and creatively
stifling. You are not alone. Share your story with other women musicians
and share in each others support, wisdom and growth as you learn new
ways of responding to these challenges and moving forward with your
musical life.

Authentic Life is offering a group designed specifically for women
musicians. The group will run for 6 weeks, meeting Tuesday evenings
from September 14 – October 19, in Vancouver. There are a limited
number of seats available and a short, free consultation with the counsellor
is required no later than September 7th prior to participation in the group.

November - December:

Do you find yourself looking around and thinking “this is not the life I planned”?
Somehow along the way your dreams got postponed or derailed and now
you’re no longer sure what you want or even who you are anymore. You
wonder if you are still young enough or have the energy or experience to
pursue a new dream or resurrect an old one.

Maybe you gave up some of your dreams in early adulthood to raise kids or
to pursue a career. Perhaps you were struggling for financial stability. Or maybe
you were recovering from childhood trauma or significantly lacking support and
confidence. Whatever your reasons, your concerns are very common among
women near or entering midlife. You are not alone!

Enjoy the support and understanding of other women facing the same questions
while you take stock of your life and re-examine your desires and great potential.
Share in each other’s wisdom and growth as you learn new ways of responding
to these challenges and move forward with your life. Authentic Life Personal Growth
Counselling is offering this support/growth group designed with you in mind.

The group will run for 6 weeks, meeting Saturdays 1:00 to 2:30pm from
November 6 – December 11, in Vancouver. The fee for participation is $30 +HST
per session. Please contact Heather prior to October 29th if you are interested
in participating in the group.
